Hello everyone! I hope you’ve had a good week so far! Today starts my series featuring the Warm Welcome Bundle. This bundle isn’t in any catalog yet, it’s online only. It’s actually an early release from the upcoming 2023 Spring Stampin’ Up Mini Catalog. And I LOVE it! It’s one of my favorites from the upcoming catalog. So, I’ve got lots of cards to show you.
For today’s card, I started with the rich and beautiful Starry Sky color. I used the small embossed door to create panels on a larger door! I’ll show you in a project tomorrow how to use it as it’s intended, but today, I’ve used it in an alternate way. I love when I can find alternate uses for my dies!
As you can see in the image above, the die cuts and embosses the edge details on the door. I cut three of them and turned them on their side to create a card sized door. I used a Sponge Dauber and rubbed ink on the edges of each piece to give them more dimension.
I adhered the three pieces to a 3 1/2″ X 5 1/4′ piece of Starry Sky Cardstock with Liquid Glue and then adhered the whole piece to the Starry Sky card base with Dimensionals. The card is so striking at that point, I didn’t think I really needed to add much. But, you know I can’t leave well enough alone so I cut a So Saffron wreath from the Country Wreath Dies. I added a few pink sequins and a Linen Thread bow. The “welcome” is stamped in So Saffron ink. I then masked one for the longer sentiment with Post It Tape and inked just the word home in Start Sky. They are stamped on a stitched rectangle that is actually from the Warm Welcome Bundle. Last, I used a Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dot for the door knob.
