Vintage Type

Good morning! I’ve got a quick drive by post for you this morning!

Don’t you just love this vintage typewriter? reminds me of all the things I saw in Warrenton last weekend!

I used several small pieces of newsprint dsp to make it look like a very busy typewriter!

These pennants are everywhere! Is it me, or does anyone else have trouble cutting these! Mine are always crooked or snipped to far in… Even when I use a punch to make the V shape. Frustrating!
This card was made for the challenges at Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and the Paper Players.

Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, You’re My Type
Ink and Paper: Not Quite Navy, Pool Party, Domestic Goddess, Attic Boutique, Sweet Shoppe,
Other: Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon (retired,) Word Window Punch,  Framelit Labels, Big Shot

  1. Yes, pennants are not always cooperative when being cut!! lol I totally LOVE the way you curled up the pieces of paper coming out the typewriter. Really great card!

  2. I learned a trick that helps me – use removable adhesive to place your two layers together – line up with the top layer slightly longer than the bottom layer – use punch to make your 'V' – remove layers & adhesive – adhere down with snail – hope this helps you – it works fine for me.

  3. lol… I love how the paper is all messed up, brings me back to typing class in High School, you would almost be done with something and the type writer would eat your work. The DSP that you picked is beautiful together!! Thanks for joining us at Paper Players this week!!

  4. I love the curled up paper!! Such whimsical dimension! awesome! BTW, I didn't pass typing. Later had to learn to keyboard. Yuck! Rote learning!

  5. Love this typewriter! An easy way to get even pennants is to use your square punch to cut your angles =) Hope this helps!

  6. I agree also about pennants…..there must be a magic way to do this but I haven't discovered it! Well, they make for a fun card regardless, I love that you use the typewriter in something other than black! Thanks for playing with my Paper Players colors this week!

  7. I'm with you on creating those pennants, Erica! Although i think yours came out great! Love how you showcased the colors and the curled paper is a super detail. Thanks for joining us at the Paper Players this week! 🙂

  8. Fabulous card, Erica! I love your mix of patterns and the celery bow! Of course, the paper projecting from the typewriter is the perfect touch! Thanks for playing with The Paper Players!

  9. This is so cute, Erica! I love all your elements and the typewriter looks perfect on that label. The flea market looks like a place I could spend a week! 🙂

  10. Oh I just LOVE pennant flags! It definately takes practice to get that perfect cut but I think yours look fabulous! Such a great use of the colours and really clever using that DSP the way you did with the typewriter! Thanks for joining us at The Paper Players.
