Hello everyone! Welcome to this month’s Sweet Stampede Blog Hop! I hope you will take the time to hop along to everyone’s blogs and leave them a little love in the comments. Our blog hop theme this month is a sketch AND a color combo! I l have to admit, I didn’t see the color part until after I was done with my card! Oops! But, I just so happened to use the upcoming brand new In Colors, so I lucked out.
Like always, our sketch is great. Lisa, who is charge of our blog hop, is really good at coming up with these! I kind of took a loose interpretation of the sketch. I did skinny strips, but cut them and turned them! That’s the thing about a card challenge- you can use it how you want. I always say that playing along with card challenges online years ago is what really helped build my blog. It is a fun way to stretch your creative muscles. It’s a starting point, but you don’t have to make your card identical to the sketch.
As I mentioned, I used the new upcoming (may 6th!!) In Colors: Strawberry Slush. Timid Tiger, Darling Duckling, Secret Sea and Cloud Cover. I cut 1/4″ strips and glued them to a 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock (with an Adhesive Sheet.) I then cut the panel into three 1″ X 5 1/4″ strips. You’ll have one left over that you can glue to the inside. I then used two different stamp sets on the Basic White Spotlight on Nature dies- All Zipped Up and The Right Words (also available May 6th.) Lastly, I added a Strawberry Slush twine bow and a few In Color Adhesive Backed Dots. It’s actualy a pretty easy card.
