Hello everybody! I can’t wait to show off today’s project! This was a gift I made for everyone who attended my Holiday Retreat last weekend. I had SO MUCH fun making these.
I purchased these wood slices from Easy because they are VERY expensive at the craft store and we don’t have wood like this laying around in South Texas. My hubby works for a wood company and even he had no idea where to find it! Luckily, I found lots of choices on Etsy and ended up purchasing them from Castle Black Supply.
It took a lot of trial and error to get a clean crisp embossed image. Luckily, I ordered plenty and had some room to play. But, I did mess up about 6 or 7 before I got it right.
I found that the embossing powder was kind of sinking down into the wood and not raising up and turning shiny. I was very frustrated but knew there had to be a way to get them to look shiny gold.
I ended up making 50 of these. When I was done, my Jamberry wraps were all peeled up! LOL!
Oh well, it was worth it!
I made a video so you could see the trick I learned to get the stamped images just right. You can find these at the local craft store, and if you don’t need 50 of them, it’s not too terribly expensive. Otherwise, I highly recommend purchasing them form Castle Black.
