Last month, the designers at Stampin’ Celebration, came back together, after a year off, and decided to offer a challenge again! This time around, we are doing it a little different. The challenge will be done on the 1st of the month and the designers will do a couple of projects to go with the challenge. But, instead of just getting a glimpse on the SCIC page, you get to go on a Blog Hop!
If your already hoppin’, you’ve arrived from my friend Cori’s blog. Isn’t she fabulous! I was luck enough to meet her last summer at Convention, and again this January at Leadership! She’s great!!
So, this month’s challenge is MY FAVORITE! Rainbows!
There is something about a rainbow project- I just love the bright colors!
I’m in the planning stages of our Teacher Appreciation goodies for this year, so i decided to create a little Teacher Appreciation goodie.
My card was created by first cutting the hearts in the Crumb Cake CS. I used the Heart Framelit die and the Big Shot. I measured first and then cut them. It was a little tricky, but they turned out OK. I then layered Dimensional under the CS and put square pieces of the sDSP in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Pacific Point and Rich Razzleberry. Next, I cut the same colors of card stock using the Hearts Embossing Sizzlet. I added a few jewels and a little twine and it was all done!
I created an envelope using the Summer Smooches DSP. My card was a strange size to a accommodate the hearts, so I decided to make it’s very own little envelope. I created it very easily by using the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. I added some decor using the Scallop Trim Punch.
Aren’t they cute together!
I added a white heart to the front of the envelope to write the name.
Now, to go along with the card, I created a bottle tag. As a teacher myself, I can attest to how much teachers like to get a surprise cold drink during the school day! (Although caffeine is usually preferred! LOL!)
I again cut the Crumb Cardstock with the Heart Framelit. With the heart that was cut out, I layered strips of the brights DSP and then placed it under the Crumb Cake with Deimensionals. I made a little tag to go inside as well.
Did you notice that twine? Uh-huh! That’s White Twine that I dyed with the reinkers! It was fun! (And, a learning experience! LOL! It needs to soak a little or you’ll have white spots!)
So there you have it! Now, your off to my friend Erin Gonzales’ Blog. She is so fun, I can’t wait for you to see what she has come up with!
Make sure you hop back over to Stampin’ Celebration and show us what you make this month in these fun rainbow colors!
