Scrapbook Saturday!

We recently had professional pictures done by a wonderful photographer we’ve used for a few years (Brandi Sutherland– check her out! She’s amazing!) We had them taken in a patch of bluebonnets, which is the state flower of Texas and grows in abundance in the spring. Actually, not every spring here in South Texas. We have some years that are sparse because of the lack of rain. But, this year was a banner year for them, so it was the time to have professional pictures taken!
I started with this one… so beautiful. It’s one of those pictures I don’t want to ruin by making an ugly page!

I stuck with subtle earth tones this time. I love how it really makes the picture pop!

In the right hand corner I punched 3 Itty Bitty Flowers and stacked them on a vintage safety pin and added the sentiment.

I cut a bunch of tag shapes in Soft Suede, Always Artichoke and Crumb Cake. I inked them really good to make them vintage looking. I added 1/2″ circle and some twine.

This is my favorite part! I stamped the swirl on Soft Suede right on the Newsprint DSP. I stamped the label shape (Everything Eleanor available June 1) in Bashful Blue on Bashful Blue CS and then inked it with Soft Suede. The circle (Frame It) is stamped in Artichoke. Sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede. The bird is DSp from Well Worn punched with the Two Step Bird Punch. All are layered with Dimensionals and finished with a Soft Suede Striped bow!

And there you have it!

  1. Gorgeous! I love the tag layering and the embellishment cluster, but my fave part is the 3 itty bitty flowers punched for the 3 itty bitty girls!

  2. You definitely didn't ruin the picture! What a lovely page! Every detail is lovingly chosen and perfectly suited to the adorable photo. Great job!
