Queen Bee Desktop Calendar

Hello everyone! Welcome back! Today, I’m breaking away from my Taco Fiesta set for a while. Don’t worry, I have several more projects to show, but I’ll save them for another time. I'[m ready to use some of the other new amazing products1

Today’s projects feature the Queen Bee. This is actually another Million Dollar Sales Achievers set! Her name is Laura Milligan and I love her set! It’s very different from mine, obviously, but that just goes to show we can love and use a variety of different kinds of stamp sets.

I created two versions of this calendar- one in Highland Heather/Gorgeous Grape and the other in Orchid Oasis/Starry SKy. These are called color buddies, which means two colors that coordinate perfectly! I wanted to really stick with purples, for whatever reason, that’s what I kept seeing for this stamp set.

These calendars are the size of a card- you start with a 4 1/4″ X 11″ card base. I stamped a 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of Highland Heather with both Highland Heather ink and Versa Mark (embossing in Gold embossing powder.) The flourish under the bee is cut from Kraft Cardstock. The bee is stamped in Versa Mark and embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. The sequins are from the new Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequin Pack.

The card has an easel on the inside so that it will stand up. A card with stand up with out the easel, but eventually it slides down. If you’re leaving these set out all year, you don’t want it to slide down constantly! The inside piece is 4″ X 5 1/2″, score on the long side at 1/2″, 2 3/4″ and 5″.

Here is my second version, using Starry Sky for the base and Orchid Oasis for the stamping piece. The measurements are all the same as the calendar above.

I buy my calendars from Taylored Expressions, which you can find here. I have a recent video showing how to make these easel calendars and you can find it here.
