MDS Giftable Templates

Hello everyone! I am sharing with you a post I did last week over on the Stampin’ Up Blog! It has been an honor to do these while I served on the Artisan Design Team. I always worry about my projects being “worthy” of their corporate blog!

Many have asked: I use a Cameo Silhouette and I have many videos about using MDS with your Silhouette. I don’t have a video for these particular files, but it’s the basic idea as the others.

**The following was originally published on the Stampin’ Up Blog**

About a year ago I learned how to use MDS files in my E-Cutter. It has really changed the way I craft. I love to explore the downloads and see what kind of things I can create. The possibilities are endless! When I saw the new Cool Like That Giftable Templates Download, I couldn’t wait to give it a try! They were screaming to be cut on my E-cutter!

I wanted to place an image on the front of each little bag or box and place some of our beautiful new DSP behind the image negative. I thought that using my favorite Kraft Cardstock combined with some of the new viviid DSP prints would really make these little goodies pop!
I explored different images and occasions and came up with some really fun combinations!

I started with a summer goodie bag. I used an anchor from Anchors Away  and a sheet from Maritime DSP to create a fun Nautical themed gift.
Next, I went with a Fourth of July theme. A simple MDS star punch combined with another print from Maritime makes a fun goodie bag!

I tried using a simple word, created with the Smitten Alphabet Punch to create the hello and backed it with the fun Sweet Taffy DSP. Just think of all the little things you could make your gift say!

I always need gift card holders for the many birthday parties my children go to, so I used the Six Sided Box template to create a birthday gift box. A triangle punch and some of the  bright Flower Pot DSP make a fun treat for my kids to give!

It seems these days, my oldest daughter’s friends all want iTunes gift cards! So the headphone image from the All Time Favorite Download paired with the Typeset DSP make the perfect gift card box!

Lastly, I sprinkled a few butterfly punches onto the front of this sweet template. Backed with more of the Typeset DSP, and you have a sweet gift bag for a girlfriend.
So as you can see, MDS downloads don’t have to be just digital! You can bring them to life and make them out of Stampin’ Up’s beautiful paper that we all love. Consider giving it a try, even if you don’t have an e-cutter, they can easily be printed and hand cut! The possibilities, truly are endless!
