Life Update

Hello everyone. I wanted to give a quick update about why I haven’t posted in a while. As you all know, my father has had Alzheimer’s for many years. We have reached the end of his journey and we are sitting by his side every day until he takes his last breath. I have decided to take the rest of the month off to be there for my family and help my Mom through the next difficult stage.

If you are a Club Create member, your kits are shipping tomorrow. If you are an In Color Club member, your kits will ship on the 29th. I am also participating in a Christmas Craft Along in July, so details on that will come later this week. But beyond that, I will not be doing any designing or posting here. I think it’s safe to say I will be back in early July. If you have questions, feel free to email me. It may take me longer to respond, but I will still be answeing emails. And if you need help with an order, please call Stampin’ Up directly at 1-800-stamp-up.

Thank you so much for your love and support over the years. You all have been so wonderful when it comes to supporting my ALZ Fundraisers. Our efforts will help them find a cure so that eventually, no other family will have to go though this. My Dad was a wonderful father and husband. It has been so hard to see him succumb to the disease. And even though we knew it was coming, it’s still a brutal experience.
We’d greatly appreciate your prayers.

  1. I am so sorry! Caring for parents as they get older is so hard. So glad you can be with him and there for your mom.

  2. Erica,

I understand your pain! I was there with my dad last September! My brother and I stayed with our dad for the last year of his life right down to when he took his last breath. You don’t want him to go, but you don’t want him to suffer anymore. So I will be praying for your dad and your family!

Take whatever time you need to take care of your mom and yourself and your family. You give so much to all of us. It’s time for you and your family.

  18. Ao sorry that the family is going through this! God woll carry you all through this time! God bless all of you!

  19. Erica – so sorry hope your loss! I lost my mom on 2001 and my dad in 2013 (as well as my father-in-law only 5 months later). Even though we knew the end was near for my dad – it was still difficult to accept. He, too, had dementia although it was related to Parkinson’s not Alzheimer’s. Sending healing prayers to you and your family. The pain subsides, but the memories thankfully do not!! 💕
