Junkin’ in Warrenton, Tx

Yesterday, one of my BFFs and I drove 2 1/2 hours to visit one of the biggest Antique/Junkin’ events in Texas- Warrenton Market Days. I was so excited, I could hardly sleep!
At one of these Market Days, you can find anything from turn of the century antique furniture, to doll heads on rusty springs.. Seriously. I saw both! But, it’s fun to wander around looking for an undiscovered treasure!

This chandelier was made of cow skulls and painted turquoise!

We found a friend! We wanted his top….

Buttons anyone???

Or maybe some vintage trim?

I loved this shop, but the lady was R.U.D.E to me and extremely over priced, so we left and found the exact same stuff a bit later for pennies!

FUN! I wanted to but every singe one of these!

Remember these? I had them when I was a kid. Plastic charms you would collect and wear on a necklace. What were they called? Where did we buy them? I don’t remember, but I do remember LOVING them! This was my very favorite booth. I bought a bunch of trinkets for the scrapbook pages.

I spy…

…a toilet seat, and old blue toy car and a boat motor!

I’ll take them ALL!!!! Sigh…

We loved this piece of furniture. How lovely would it be with paper in each cubby? Look closely at it. It had doll arms and legs in each cubby! LOL!

This giant throne was plastic. It was alike a Barbie Chair blown up! Where in the world did this thing come from???

Lace Tepee!

Uhm…There are no words….

Again, someone is quite twisted…

 Coffee Bug! LOL!

Overall, it was a blast. I didn’t run out of money, which tells you something. I felt like a lot of things were VERY over priced. And, I didn’t really see anything I couldn’t live with out or that was a “gotta have it.” The only thing that got a way? A giant 100 year old piece of furniture with 36 drawers. It was a steal at $1000. But, I left THAT money at home! Ha!

So, here is what I bought

It’s funny to me that my favorite purchase was a collection of trinkets! But, how fun will these be to use as embellishments! I love that!

Have a great Monday! I’ll be back tomorrow with a new card!

  1. I was wondering if you could help me. I live in Maryland and my daughter is going to be relocating in July to Houston TX for a job. Neither one of us is familiar with that part of the country. I saw your blog about "junkin in Warrenton" and I was wondering if you could tell me more about it. Is it just a weekend show or does it go all the time? I googled Warrenton Market Day and I got an antiques page. I am interested in learning more about what Texas has to offer in the way of events like those you wrote about. I would be so grateful if you could help me in learning what is out there or what would be fun for her to do on the weekends. She won't know a soul there and I figured if she could have markets to explore that would give her something to do on the weekends. Thanks for any help you can provide. If you would prefer my email to send info I can provide that to you.
