It’s Tuesday- Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge Day! Yay! We’ve got a very challenging one for you today! In fact, it was very hard for me! I spent a long time thinking and researching Pinterest for this one!
Wearable Art! Now, I’ve made many headbands and clips in the past, but I wanted to think of something different! And, I wanted to use fabric. There is some unbelievably cute fabric coming out in the new catalog (on Friday!) and I really want to use it even more than I have in the past. So, I came up with this Bitty Purse for my little girl!
I used the Beau Chateau Designer Fabric and THIS pattern. I free handed it and realized too late that my handle was too fat. Oh well, it works! But, noted for next time!
The flower was made by twisting a strip of fabric on to a sticky piece of cardstock. The felt flower in the back was cut using the flower folds die and the Big Shot. Oh, and on a side note, while sewing it my five year old said “Mommy! Why are you sewing a diaper!?!?” HA! Yes, I guess it does kind of resemble a diaper. Leave it to Emma to always keep it real!
It was really simple to make. Maybe 30 minutes from start to finish. And, my sewing skills are pretty basic, so it’s a little rough around the edges, but my 3 year old thought it was magnificent! She immediately filled it with little trinkets and treasures.
So, what kind of wearable art can you make? I’d love to see some more ideas for fabric! Please play along with us and come back and link up at Hand Stamped Sentiments!
Thanks for stopping by!
And, in case you’ve forgotten:
