Hello everyone! Welcome back! My family and I are traveling through New Mexico and West Texas this week for Spring Break. So far, we’ve stopped at Guadalupe Mountains National Park, White Sands National Park, Roswell and… the World’s Largest Pistachio!
If you watched last week’s Facebook Friday, you know how much I love Pistachio! This road side stop was in Alamogordo, NM and was such a fun one. It was very crowded! Lot’s of spring breakers stopping by. And yes, I got my Pistachio Ice Cream!
White Sands National Park was interesting. 276 square miles of Gypsum. It was like being at the beach without the water to wash all the sand off! (And then a three hour ride back to the hotel covered in sand!!) I kept thinking I could hear the waves… The girls used discs to slide down the dunes for a while, then we hiked and watched the sun set.
My youngest said that if we went to White Sands, we had to stay for the sunset. And I’m so glad we did. It was incredible!
Hubby and I enjoyed just sitting, feeling the breeze and watching our two goofball teenagers burn off energy. It was hot in the afternoon, but so lovely in the evening. If you’re ever in New Mexico, it’s worth a drive through to see the unusual sand dunes!
Today’s card features one of the new Online Exclusive products Stampin’ Up released at the beginning of March. It’s called Growth Takes Time. It’s a lovely set with some really sweet sentiments. I stamped the image on Watercolor Paper in Staz On ink and colored with Watercolor Pencils. I used a Blender Pen to smooth out the color. I cut the images out with a Taylor Made Tag. The card base is Balmy Blue and has a layer of Balmy Blue Country Floral Gingham on the front. I also added a 3 1/4″ X 4 1/2″ layer of Textured Shimmer Cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede ink on Kraft Paper and cut out with a Fancy That Lable Die. Embellishments used are Balmy Blue and White Ribbon, Three Twine Combo Pack and Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.
Remember, I’ll be out of the office all week. But, I’ve got a great ordering special for Spring Break. All orders over $50 between March 10-19, 2023 will receive a special thank you gift from me! If your order is over $50, you’ll receive a pack of ten handmade cards (and envelopes) from me! If your order is over $100, you will also receive the Host Exclusive Scenic Garden stamp set.
