Greatest Journey Desktop Calendar

Hello everyone! Welcome back! Today I have another desktop calendar for you. I love making these, and have made many in the past. If you are looking for more ideas, you can scroll through these posts here.

Today’s calendar features The Greatest Journey, a really fun new suite. It’s bright and bold and uses colors that SU doesn’t usually use in their paper. I LOVE it! The images are all fun outdoorsy images and the dies take the set even further!

For my calendars, I always start with a 4 1/4′ X 11″ card base. This one is Polished Pink. I adhere a 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of the Enjoy The Journey DSP to the card base. Next, I stamped several sets of trees in Garden Green ink on Garden Green Cardstock and cut them out with the matching die. I layered them at the bottom of the DSP with Dimensionals. Next, I cut a biker from Basic Black Cardstock and used Dimensionals to adhere him behind the trees.

Lastly, I used my Stamparatus and Basic Black and Polished Pink Stampin’ Write Markers to stamp the sentiment in two colors. You use the marker to color the actual rubber stamp and then stamp it on the paper. I used the Stamparatus so that I can do it several times, layering the color multiple times to make the color solid and bold. I used my Paper Snips to fussy cut the words and adhered them to the bottom of the card with Dimensionals. TIP- Using a pencil, draw your cut lines first! This will make it easier for you to cut, seeing a line to follow instead of just guessing where you’re scissors are going as you cut!

I added a calendar from Taylored Expressions. Last, I scored a 4″ X 5 1/2″ piece of Polished Pink Cardstock at 1/2″, 2 3/4″ and 5″, folded it like a W and adhered it to the inside of the card to create a stencil. I ave a video showing exactly how I make these calendars here.

I made this card for my oldest daughter Ellie. Since going to college, she has discovered her absolute love for outdoor adventure! She loves to mountain bike, camp, backpack and rock climb! She hadn’t done any of that before she went to school and she joined the Outdoor Adventure group her freshman year and found her tribe for sure! She spent 11 days over the break becoming certified in outdoor survival! She’s so brave!
