Friendly Seagulls Desktop Calendar

Hello everyone and welcome back! As I have been talking about all week, we have new catalogs and online exclusives this week!! Every year at this time, I love making up desktop tear off calendars to give to friends and family. I always use these from Taylored Expressions. I was inspired to create this one after I saw this adorable card from Mikaela Titheridge. The castle dies from the Kiddin’ Around die set are perfect for creating a sand castle. And we all know what else you’ll find at the beach- seagulls! These Friendly Seagulls are from a set you can only get for free when you spend $60 at Stampin’ Up. It was my first choice from the SAB Catalog! I love them! I also used the new beautiful Friends of the Ocean DSP, also perfect!

I’ve made so many of these calendars over the years, you can scroll through them here. I always start with a 4 1/4″ X 11″ card base. This one is Summer Splash. I adhered a 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of the Friends of the Ocean DSP to the card base. I added the calendar to the bottom of a 3 1/2″ X 4 3/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock and then to a 3 3/4 X 5″ piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock. I added a bit of Summer Splash ink to the top of the Basic White piece with a Blending Brush and then flicked a bit of Stampin Blends ink as well. The castle was cut form Crumb Cake Cardstock. The birds are colored with Grey Granite, Basic Black and Peach Pie Stampin’ Blends. I fussy cut them with Paper Snips and added them to the castle. The beach ball was colored with Summer Splash. Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends. I stamped the sentiment on a Basic White Stylish Shape banner and glued it to a popsicle stick. I actually used my Summer Splash Stampin’ Blend to color the Lost Lagoon Cording so that it would match. The easel is made with a 4″ X 4″ piece of Summer Splash Cardstock, scored at 1/2″, 2″ and 3 1/2″ on one side.
