I am honored to be a Guest Designer at The Friday Mashup this month! this is one of my favorite challenge blogs and I try to play along often! So, today begins my GD term- I hope you’ll join me!
Today’s challenge is a very timely one-
- Make a project
for “Mom, Grandmother, Aunt etc…”.
- Or Make a project with a ” Pop-Up
- Or “Mash it Up”
and create a ” Pop-Up Project for
- Or join in
Both challenges and create a “Pop-Up Project for Mom using
the inspiration photo above.”
So, I decided to go for a Mom card and try That’s something different I don’t usually do, so it was a lot of fun!
I started with this precious little set called . I loved this set the first time I laid eyes on it because the little dog looks like our dog Mac! My mom actually gave Mac to my girls a few years back, so she has a soft spot in her heart for him as well! So, little Mac is holding a letter, sending it off to my mom who lives 1000 miles away.
The grass was just hand cut out of DSP and then run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice embossing folder. (DSP was just scraps, so I’m not 100% sure which packs they are from!) I added a little Bitty Flower here and there with a few tiny peals. I used my blender pen to add a little sky behind Mac.
Now, when you open the card up, here is where you get the “pop up!” I actually make pop up books like this at school all the time with my kids. Its so simple! I just used a scrap of the same Wisteria Wonder CS and creased it as I saw fit. I really just eyeballed it! I repeated the same grass and letters like on the front.
Top View, you can see the scrap folded here a little better.
The card lays down completely flat! Cute, huh? the possibilities are endless with this little pop up technique!
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will join us at The Friday Mashup! Please hop over there if you have not done so already and check out what the wonderful designers have come up with! Have a great Friday!!
