Flowering Desert Sweet Cups

Hi everybody! Today, I’ll be live over at PinkBuckaroo Designs Facebook Page  at 2:00 pm CST. This week will be a little different than my regular schedule. My parents are coming to town for Easter and I am taking Thursday and Friday off to spend time with them! So, I’ll be live today and then again tomorrow at 2:00.

Today, I’m going to show you everything I came home with from On Stage. It was an incredible weekend (and I have blog posts planned, I just haven’t had enough hours in the day to get them up!!) I have had a bunch of questions about this fun Sweet Cup I made for my team, so I’ll also show you how to make it!
I didn’t think I would have time to make something for my team. I was so overwhelmed getting ready for our Stamping event the day before On Stage, I just didn’t think it was in the cards. But, my assistant Denise gave me a great idea. She said “Why don’t we get Mexican Cookies from the bakery and put them in Sweet Cups!?” I thought, ok, I can do that! Then, I kind of became obsessed with making them Super fancy! Ha!

I started with the Blooming Desert stamp set. I added a little Melon Mambo Flower to the cactus and added it to the lid. I used the sentiment from Waterfront. I used this template to cut Tropical Chic DSP for the sides. Make sure you print the template in 100% size.  But, it just wasn’t enough…. So, I went to the internet for ideas.

Then, I saw this idea. by Tammy Shaia and i had to add a dome top to mine. I decided to make them shakers as well!

They were SO much fun to make! I made enough to give to my team who were coming to the San Antonio On Stage.

So, what are the dome tops? They’re ornament halves! You know those plastic ornaments you can get at Christmas? Well, you an actually get them all year long from Amazon.
For the Sweet Cups, you’ll need the 80 mm size. You can find them here.

  1. Hi! I'm wondering about the measurements for the paper used to cover the cup (the top circle, around the lid, and the stencil for the cup). Did you post the instructions somewhere? Thanks!

  2. Ok, just went back and found the stencil for the cup. LOL (Sorry I wasn't paying attention) What about the side of the lid and the top circle though? 😉
