Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We sure did. It was relaxing and cold and dreary, which was a nice change for the hot and sunny South Texas. And, I made a new cake called Pumpkin Pie Cake. It was in a cookbook my mom gave me for my birthday called Layers. If you like to bake, its a great cookbook! The digital version is on sale right now for $2.99! Click the link above to find it (affiliate.)
It wasn’t an easy cake to make, but it was worth the extra steps! The best part was a browned butter filling! Yum!
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with all the family favorites, like my grandmother’s Corn Casserole and my mom’s Sweet Potato Casserole. We’re still working on those leftover! And, my mom sets the table every year with a mix of dishes from grandmothers and great aunts. I love that she does this!
And we spent a few days playing Tripoley! Yes, Pepper helped as best she could! Somehow my youngest beat all of us the whole weekend! By a LOT!
And last but not least, I packed up all my pumpkins yesterday. Boo hoo!! I love pumpkins so much, I wish I could keep them out all year! But, alas, it’s time for us to move on to Christmas. Next year when I get them out, hopefully it will be to decorate our new house!
To start things off, I have a card that features the Caroling Mice stamp set. This stamp set is a Stampin’ Rewards set, which means you can only get it when you spend over $150. Then, you can choose it as part of your free Stampin’ Rewards. The paper is from The Sweetest Christmas DSP pack.
I used Stampin’ Blends to color the scene. Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade and old Olive for the mice. I used Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight for the lamp post.
I added a sentiment from Hope & Peace on the inside as well as another lamp post.
My 12 Days of Christmas (tentative) will begin on Thursday, Dec. 1! You’ll notice it’s a bit different this year. I won’t be live every day, but my goal is to be live three times a week. The other days will have a prerecorded video. And, as always, it’s a crazy time of the year, so all of this is tentative and subject to change. But, there will be giveaways every day plus free make and takes each week. I hope you’ll join me!
