Hello! Welcome back to the Artisan Wednesday Wow Blog hop! Today we are featuring our second project from the October box . As I stated last week, my favorite part of this box, actually wasn’t in the box at all! It was a digital download for MDS:
Feathered Woodcuts! For this week’s project, I used these beautiful feathers as part of my cover on a Gratitude Mini Album.
Had. To. Have.
But, I wasn’t quite sure what I would do with the other things because I don’t host Thanksgiving and this wasn’t something I necessarily needed….
So, I got out the kit, spread out the pieces and knew I had to use them. They are fun and beautiful and so “fall-ish!” (This picture looks weird.. I had major trouble photographing this for some reason.. sorry!)
Let’s start with the cover. I merged the Feathered Woodcut files over to my E-Cutter. I cut them out of Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry Cardstock and then ran them through the Big Shot and the Chevron and Pretty Print Embossing Folders.
I then cut the title out using the
Expressions Thinlits (one of my most favorite things from this catalog!) The pages (including the cover) are the napkin covers from the kit. They are already scored and ready to fold up together! So easy! So, I quickly put those together, but I also added some Natural trim and a strip of Early Espresso Core’dination CS that was cut with the Tasteful Trims die.
The pages are all bound together with binder rings. I added a bunch of pieces of ribbon to these as well.
On each inside page, I places a photo of each of my five family members. Inside the pocket is one of the Journaling Cards with the Thankful For stamp at the top. The idea is to document what each of us is thankful for this year. I think it will be so cute to see what the girls write!
The tabs on each age were again created with the Early Espresso Core’dination Cardstock. I cut them out using the Chalk talk Framelit. To make them distressed, I ran the Stampin’ Sander all over them. Love that look! I finished them off with the naturals Buttons and Linen Twine.
This is a sweet keepsake that my family with cherish for years to come. And who knew! It was meant to be something completely different! So, don’t look past those kits in the catalog if you think the project they are intended for aren’t for you! The pieces are often wonderful all on their own!
Thanks for stopping by again and now your off to my good friend Jane Lee! I can’t wait to see her project this week! Leave her and the rest of the design team some love!
