Hello everybody! I am excited to share this week’s project with you! Thanks for hopping along the Artisan Blog Hop! We really do appreciate it!
I love to challenge myself and try to think of alternative ways to use products. Stamps, Punches, dies… They all lend themselves to alternative uses. But, have you ever given the kits much thought beyond the basic “kit project?” Well, I have! The kits SU offers are full of beautiful product and should not be overlooked!
I pulled all the yummy stuff our of the Calypso Coral Celebration Add On Kit and was wowed immediately. It’s beautiful! It includes a long strand of garland as well as unique paper and embellishments. I have had the idea to make a little bird cage for a while and thought this was the perfect time to get to work on that!
The birdcage is made from paper found in the Calypso Kit. They aren’t paper you’ve seen elsewhere. They are all unique.
Next I decided that the cage needed a little swag… A blingy garland that drapes from one side to the other and back again. The best part? This is already made in your kit!! It’s completely ready to go! Nice!
Nex, I used the Spiral Flower Die and some Core’dination papers to create the flowers in the front. The Core’dination paper offers a two tone look when sanded. The third rose is again paper from the kit.
Lastly, the little birds are an MDS file- Birds of a Feather. I merged them into my E-Cutter and cut them out of Gold Foil Cardstock.
I hope you are inspired by my little bird cage! I am working on a tutorial for this, so make sure you stop back by later this week!
Ok, you’re off to some more fabulousness over at Jane Lee’s blog!! Have fun!
