Artisan Design Team December Project #4- Fabric Snack Bags

Hi everybody! Welcome to the January Stampin’ Up Artisan Design Team blog hop! These were the products we were sent in December, but because of the holidays were posting the last one now! It should be appearing on the Stampin’ Up Facebook Page today as well!
You’ve probably just arrived from Cindy Beach’s blog. Cindy is such a wonderful artist. She was my Artisan DT Secret Santa this year and she sent me the cutest card! It got the most attention on my door of cards this last month! Thanks again Cindy!
I chose to make my fourth project using the delicious Essentials Designer Series Fabric! As I’ve said before, I enjoy sewing. not as much as paper crafts, but I love to make things from fabric. I think sewing is really a lost art. My mother and her generation all knew how t sew! My generation, not so much. It’s making a come back and I’m happy about that! My mother actually taught me how to sew when I lived at home while my hubby was over seas. Very special memories. 🙂 Thanks Mom!

So I created these little bucket bags for my two youngest girls. They have Velcro tops and a plastic lining.  They are now their designated travel snack bags.

I made a little tag for each one using the Morning Post Alphabet. This one is stamped in Daffodil Delight. This chevron print in Daffodil Delight is my favorite of all ten fabrics included in this pack. It’s perfect with this Marina Mist pattern.

I attached the tag simply with a clothespin. Of course, I had to add a bow! This one is the 1/4″ Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

After I made the bags, I realized they were quite big. So, I thought they would be great for crayons and markers as well. The lining is something called Polyurethane Laminate . It’s used to make Diaper Covers. It’s soft like fabric, but it’s water resistant.

Here is the second bag. Daffodil Delight goes well with Cherry Cobbler too!

You can see, it’s quite big. But, you never know when you might need a lot of goldfish! Am I right, all you Mommies out there??

So there you have it. I love these little guys. So much, I almost don’t want my monsters getting their grubby little hands on them!! I know, I know… I will let them use them… as long as their hands are clean! 😉
Your next stop on this Blog Hop is over to the beautiful Heidi King. I always look forward to her projects!
Thanks for stopping by! I will be posting my 3rd January Project tomorro, so make sure you stop back by!
